The ICDL program demonstrates a person’s competence in computing knowledge and skills in accordance with international standards.

The ICDL syllabus designed to ensure relevance to the working world and advances in technology covers the key concepts of computing, their practical applications and use in the workplace and society. It consists of seven modules, each of which must be passed before the ICDL certificate is awarded.

Tests are designed to assess the knowledge and skills needed to use a personal computer and common computer applications. The question items are mostly of a practical performance-based type, assessing the candidate's mastery of essential IT skills.

Advanced ICDL

ICDL Advanced is a higher-level program certifying mastery of skills of the ICDL core to further enhance skills and knowledge and to demonstrate competence in using a computer at a higher level; ICDL Advanced Certification awards a higher-level certification at the successful completion of each module.

Robotics Educational Classroom

Tools for investigating mechanical principles used in building simple machines and robotics solutions where students are introduced to computer programming and automated technology. Such a classroom offers an interdisciplinary approach to math, science and technology, as well as a means of strengthening general problem-solving, social and communication skills.

Classroom materials promote a high degree of hand-on experience and student involvement, which further enhance the quality of their learning activities that enable teachers to cover the curriculum requirements, while motivating students to take an active role in their learning. Teachers are to contribute to the learning process as a coach, guide and enabler, rather than as an instructor.

The Key ideas for the Robotics lab include:

  • Building robots to perform a function
  • Using sensors to control robots
  • Understanding the properties of light
  • Understanding object positions and motion
  • Creating and using tools for measuring distance and time
  • Programming sounds
