The Modern American School was proud to welcome the American Education Forum and its participating Universities to our high school for the College Fair. The American Education Forum, organized and funded by the International Student Network, brings representatives of accredited American Colleges, Universities, and ESL programs to participating schools and allows for students to learn more about tuition, housing, application requirements, visa processing, campus life, and merit based scholarship opportunities available at the presenting colleges and universities.
The International Student Network aims to connect participating high school students with U.S. Universities and Colleges. The organization limits the number of participating institutions in order to give students the opportunity to ask questions and converse with representatives in a comfortable environment without feeling too overwhelmed. Our College Counselors worked hard to prepare the students for the Forum by providing them with advice about introductions, key questions, and other tips regarding etiquette. It paid off! The representatives were extremely impressed with the preparedness and professionalism of our students.
This event further stressed the importance of college counseling. The Modern American School believes in the importance of counseling each student as an individual who has particular needs, interests, and goals. The primary focus of our counselors is helping our students clearly understand their roles and responsibilities in the college process, while at the same time providing guidance, information, encouragement, and care for each student. We are so proud of the progress our students have made and look forward to seeing where they choose to continue their education.
