MAS Hosts AdvancED Regional Teacher Conference

Modern American School - AdvancED Conference

On March 14th, The Modern American School will host the 2015 Advanc-Ed Conference. The Advanc-Ed Conference is an International Conference that brings educators and administrators together to exchange information regarding new teaching techniques and provides a glimpse in to the most recent educational research. This Conference will not only provide valuable networking opportunities, but insights from acclaimed practitioners and recognized educational experts, as well as in-depth information regarding the Advanc-ED Accreditation Process.

According to Ms. Omaya Zamel, Director of Modern American School, the primary purpose of the Conference is “to train teachers and notify them about the new ideas of teaching.”  Educators from all over the world will be able to come together and collaborate with colleagues regarding new ideas and creative approaches to classroom instruction. The Conference will allow MAS teachers to improve on their own skills and expertise. The Modern American School believes that education is first and foremost about learning; about developing the intellectual capacities needed to succeed as professionals and human beings. This Conference is a stepping stone toward accomplishing these goals.

Conference administrators will be offering a series of workshops which the teachers may choose from based on their own interests. Ms. Omaya emphasized that there will also be an opportunity for professional communities to collaborate with teachers. She emphasized the importance of bringing in educators from all over the world and providing for everyone the resources necessary to cultivate intellectual curiosities in new and innovative ways.

In accordance with the Modern American School Vision, the aim of this conference will be to provide teachers with new information to aid them in ensuring that students are provided with a challenging educational environment within an international community. We are looking forward to advancing the knowledge of our faculty members by hosting and taking part in this exceptional Conference.
