Path to Model United Nations Conference @Yale

Modern American School

With the academic year in full swing at the Modern American School, the MASMUN (MAS Model United Nations) students are now fully focused on conference trainings and prepping for the Yale MUN conference in January. The students are excitedly attending local conferences in order to hone their debate and public speaking skills in order to make their mark at YMUN. MAS will be sending 20 high School students to the Yale conference in January 2015.

With one conference experience under their belt, the students are eagerly looking forward to their next. With one more local conference booked into the calendar, the students are working hard to make the most out of the next few months before January’s YMUN conference in America rolls around. An international MUN conference hosted on the historic grounds of Yale University, YMUN distinguishes itself as an MUN conference of the highest caliber. Put together and moderated by Yale undergrad students, YMUN is chock full of exciting committees that are simply not held in every conference, such as the G8 Forum, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), UNESCO, and the UNDP to name just a few.

The students are casting their nets wide in terms of their research on current events, and are requesting even more trainings on how to effectively research topics and how to debate effectively. MASMUN delegates want to be fully prepared to make an impression at YMUN – their debut on the international stage for many of the delegates.

All in all, YMUN looks to be a very promising proving ground for the MASMUN delegates. It will be their first time attending a conference of this caliber. Organized by some of the best students attending one of the most elite institutions of higher learning in the world, YMUN will be a conference MASMUN delegates will remember forever.
