MAS Students Celebrate Mother's Day

Modern American School

On Thursday, March 19th, the Modern American School celebrated Mother’s Day, which normally falls on March 21st. It is a modern celebration in honor of all the mothers worldwide. Mother’s Day originally was celebrated in honor of the mothers who either had no children or lost their children in war. Today, this day recognizes motherhood and maternal bonds in general and is celebrated all over the globe on different dates.

Mother’s Day at MAS was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and joy. Mother-themed poems, songs, and activities were rampant. KG students presented skits and songs to express their gratitude for their mothers and to entertain them. Different shows were performed by Middle and Senior school students with love and affection. The adoring voices of MAS kids singing in honor of mothers filled the school with joy and Mother’s Day spirit.

Mother’s Day celebrations and activities started in the early morning. MAS teachers and parents were greeted warmly and offered gifts, flowers, and chocolates. MAS parents were also invited to see their young ones performing a show for their mothers. Love was in the air as every student took part and made his or her mom feel special. Later in the day, a group of students representing MAS student body visited Ms. Omaya’s office to wish her a beautiful Mother’s Day and presented her with a bouquet of flowers, expressing their appreciation for her constant care and support. Additionally, The Student Council worked hard to prepare gifts and arrange flowers so that the students could give something sweet to their beloved mothers. Ms. Omaya also treated all MAS mothers with a wonderful cook book in appreciation of their partnership with the school.

The sweet faces of the children filled with delight, along with moms crying tears of happiness, filled the day with joy. Mother’s Day is a time to reflect on the importance of mothers in life and to appreciate the love they give and the sacrifices they make so that their children lead a better life. Mother’s Day is a time to thank our mothers for being a constant guiding force in our lives. Further, this day is to honor and respect the other motherly figures in our lives, such as aunts, grandmothers, and the teachers that work hard to provide an education for us. We wish every mom and teacher a very Happy Mother’s Day. We hope to make them feel special and proud not only today, but every day.

A beautiful quote for mother’s day “A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.”
