MAS Library System

Our state-of-the-art libraries provide students with a variety of books written in English, Arabic, and French. Each of our 4 libraries caters to the age group for which it is assigned and offers more than 60,000 books for our students to read and enjoy. The libraries use the KOHA online catalogue, a new software program that allows students to search for titles, see which books are available, and borrow books.

This system provides students with a short summary of each book and even gives suggested readings to students based on their individual interests. Books that aren’t available are immediately ordered and brought to the school in a timely fashion. Additionally, we also have special relationships with a number of academic journals and information hubs that allow our students access softcopy versions of books and articles.

The libraries at the Modern American School cater to children of all ages through a wide variety of programs and activities. Regular book fairs are provided to the students and include visits from local authors. Reading competitions, book clubs, story tellers, and book readings are just a few of the wonderful opportunities offered by the libraries at MAS.

Students of all ages and interests will find relevant and engaging programs at our school libraries that will build up their knowledge base in the literary arts, sciences, and languages, while promoting essential academic skills like reading and writing. Please check out our Announcements section to keep updated on library sponsored activities and special events.
