STEM Program @ MAS

The MAS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Club is comprised of an elite group of our future doctors, engineers, and scientists. The club is divided into Scientific Outreach, Robotics, and 3D printing sections, which regularly work together to accomplish their goals of national and international scientific advancement. The Scientific Outreach section devotes most of its efforts to informing our community about local science and scientific issues of international concern. The group has successfully planned and executed major, full-school events, like Recycling Day and Earth Day. The Robotics section works daily, improving their engineering and programming skills, using LEGO pieces to create Sumo fighting robots.

The 3D printing section explores the advanced technology of 3D printing and applies it to real-world challenges, such as improved speed and agility of flying machines. Combining their strengths and talents, the STEM Club traveled to Vienna, Austria this spring to be the very first team from Jordan to compete in the renowned international Robotics competition, the RobotChallenge. With one sumo fighting robot, created entirely from Lego pieces, and one flying robot constructed from scratch from metallic and 3D printed parts, the team learned from and competed against top engineers and robotics experts from around the world. The members of this very successful club have had great opportunities to advance their skills, knowledge, and international professional networks. Further, they have distinguished themselves for imminent University admissions. We at MAS look forward to our team’s many great accomplishments at University and beyond.
